Fake Fans

Will Make You Lose

It's OK when everybody does it...

Right?

😐

Well if you're just another quick cash grabber...

...sure buy fake followers

But when in it for the long haul...

Do you really want your house sitting on a bed of jelly...

...that'll get washed away in a heartbeat?

There's only ONE thing stopping you...

...from building a foundation of real fans

And that's your precious pride because yes...

...you can easily start with zero followers

Let's take twitter:

They like pushing users down a bottomless pit while blasting ads at them

👉 As long as you don’t share external links to pull people out, twitter loves you

And if you have to share an outlink then use your bio or pinned tweet…

…to refer (without linking) it in your other tweets

Now how do you get real followers?

Simply by providing value:

e.g. write a piece tailored to the target audience...

...and start sharing that tweet thread[1] in others comments:

Tie your tweet directly into the conversation so you won't get blocked

  • the linked value thread starts with a simple image i.e. not slick branding
  • such image inhales new eyeballs on each share...
  • stopping users in their track...

...and redirecting them to your profile

With the first followers in the door now...

...you start building out your timeline:

This won't require hiring a $3000/h copywriter...

...as long as you put one foot out your head

and see life from your fans point of view:

I have a pega for which I’m looking for a jockey and I need the energy to be kept below 20 at all times

I have... I’m looking... I need... blah blah blah

Such brain vomit belongs in a diary

How can we do better?

Keep it short and all about them:

Can you race right now?

There... 5 tiny bites

YOU appears early while NOW tickles the subconscious

Let's improve this further by revealing how much they'll earn:

Emojis are mini-images that superglue onto our eyes

✅ Green means SAFE while a tickbox subconsciously signals YES

✅ The check acts as a subtle arrow pointing to the comments

✅ And each row has progressively fewer characters

This makes the eyes “glide down the stairs”...

...because each next line is easier to consume

Now instead of drowning into more details...

...simply remember to use YOU instead of I

So we can move on to the force multiplier...

Retweet contests:

  • Keep it real by awarding the price in public[2]
  • Asking to retweet a linked tweet can get anything pushed up the algorithm
  • And surprise contests will have your fans retweet even more:

But avoid the dreaded "tag 23 friends" unless you like getting blocked

Most importantly...

Just have fun while applying the principles above...

...and without this self-sabotage:

👎 Often updating your profile picture (PFP)

👎 Having your PFP signal distrust[3]

👎 Multilingual tweeting
